Pump Operator Path

An online pump operator course: 23 courses in 9 units

The path follows NFPA 1002 (now part of NFPA 1010) for pumper driver/operators. The units open in order, so a new operator builds from the apparatus up to hydraulics, water supply and the NFPA 1410 evolutions, then practises the skills on the simulator. A department can open the units in any order instead, or turn off courses it does not use.

How It Works

Classroom before the panel

Assign and track

Instructors assign courses alongside simulator evolutions, with due dates. Trainees see both in one list, and instructors see who has finished and what each person scored.

Due dates • Completion • Quiz scores

Quizzes that hold up

Every module ends in a quiz that needs 70% to pass. Questions and answers are shuffled on every attempt, and every attempt is kept, passed or failed.

70% pass mark • Shuffled • Every attempt recorded

Counts toward ISO hours

When your department tracks ISO, a finished course adds to the member’s training hours on its own, in the ISO category it counts toward.

Your department’s choice

Turn off built-in courses your department does not use, let trainees take the units in any order, and add courses of your own. AI can draft extra quiz questions, and none reach a trainee until an instructor approves them.

Common Questions

eLearning questions, answered

Which plan includes the eLearning courses?
The courses are an add-on to the Complete plan at $10 a trainee seat a month, or $120 a seat billed once a year, and free for departments with 10 or more trainees on an annual plan. Statewide and Authority licenses include them.
Is this an online NFPA 1002 pump operator course?
Yes, for the knowledge side. The pump operator path follows NFPA 1002 (now part of NFPA 1010) for pumper driver/operators: apparatus and driving, pump theory, hydraulics, water supply, foam and standpipe supply, safety and the NFPA 1410 evolutions. The hands-on skills are practised on the PumpForge simulator. Certification itself comes from your state’s certifying body, and PumpForge keeps the record of every course and quiz a member finishes.
Do the yearly refreshers come round again on their own?
Yes. Each refresher opens again 12 months after a member finishes it, so the yearly SCBA, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, cancer reduction, rehab and Mayday training stays current without anyone re-assigning it.
Can we skip courses we don’t need?
Yes. A department admin can turn off any built-in course the department does not use and let trainees take the units in any order. Progress and results already earned are kept.
