What PumpForge Does for Your Department
Every feature maps to a real training requirement. If it does not help your operators pass their pump test or make your instructors' jobs easier, it is not in the platform.
NFA Evolutions
The same curriculum your operators would run at the National Fire Academy — available at every station, any shift, without travel. All 15 scenarios (12 NFA evolutions + 3 NFPA 1002 JPR scenarios) are pre-built, scored automatically, and ready to assign the moment your department activates.
Single-Line Supply
Basic pump operations with one discharge line. The foundation evolution for new pump operators. Covers intake setup, throttle control, and maintaining target discharge pressure within tolerance.
Multi-Line Operations
Two and three-line setups with different nozzle pressures. Operators learn to balance discharge pressures across multiple lines simultaneously while monitoring net pump pressure and intake.
Relay & Drafting
Tandem pumping and draft operations from static water sources. Covers rural and mutual aid scenarios where hydrant supply is unavailable. Primer operation and lift calculation included.
Foam & Master Stream
Foam eductor operations and large-flow appliances. Standpipe configurations for high-rise scenarios. Operators calculate correct foam percentage and maintain required flow rates under pressure.
Scenario Builder
Build evolutions that match your department's apparatus, hose loads, and response area. Every parameter your operators encounter on a real call can be replicated — right down to the nozzle your engine carries and the flow rate of your district's weakest hydrant.
Water Supply Options
Hydrant, tank, or draft. Set the static pressure, residual characteristics, and supply limitations for your district. Model your weakest hydrant or your worst-case tanker shuttle scenario.
Discharge Line Setup
Configure each line with the nozzle, hose diameter, length, and appliances your department actually carries. Smooth bore, combination, or automatic nozzles. 1.75" through 5" LDH supply lines.
8 Grading Categories
Weight the categories that matter to your instructors: PDP accuracy, safety compliance, intake monitoring, flow balance, speed, throttle control, valve management, and foam accuracy. Each category has an adjustable weight.
Pass/Fail Tolerances
Set the PSI tolerance your instructors require. Configurable max attempts per trainee. Auto-scoring with manual override for instructor judgment calls. Instructors can annotate results before they become record.
Panel Layouts
Operators train on a panel that looks like the one they will pump at 2 AM. Muscle memory matters — the gauge positions, valve handles, and display layouts in PumpForge match the real apparatus your crew rides. Department License includes the custom panel editor.
Pierce
Velocity, Enforcer, and Arrow XT panel configurations. Gauge positions, ranges, and valve layouts match the real pump panel. The most common apparatus in the US fleet is fully represented.
Rosenbauer
Commander, Admiral, and Warrior configurations. Digital display positions and integrated flow meter gauges replicated accurately. Rosenbauer's characteristic panel geometry is preserved.
E-ONE
Typhoon, Cyclone, and Quest configurations. Standard and custom gauge placements for E-ONE apparatus. Side-mount and top-mount panel variants included.
Neutral / Custom
Three generic configurations for mixed fleets or departments with older apparatus. Department License includes the panel editor to build your exact panel from scratch — drag gauges, set ranges, label everything.
Reports & Certification
Your training records need to survive an audit. PumpForge documents every control input, every gauge reading, and every safety event — automatically, in real time, from the moment a trainee starts an evolution to the moment they submit it.
After Action Reports
A full timeline of every gauge reading, control change, and safety event at 20Hz resolution. Instructors scrub through the run frame by frame, add annotations at specific timestamps, and export to PDF. Every run is preserved indefinitely.
Automatic Scoring
Each evolution is scored against your configured tolerances the instant it completes. Pass/fail with detailed category breakdowns across all 8 grading dimensions. No more subjective evaluations or score disputes.
Certification System
Issue pump operator certifications with documented evidence attached. Track expiration dates, automate renewal reminders, and manage recertification queues across your entire department from one screen.
Compliance-Ready Export
Exportable records formatted for state fire commissions, ISO audits, and NFPA compliance reviews. Everything is timestamped, digitally signed, and traceable to the individual session. CSV and PDF formats available.
Management Tools
Run your training program without needing IT support or additional hardware. PumpForge handles scheduling, monitoring, records, and role management — everything an instructor needs to run a compliant training program from a single dashboard.
Live Monitoring
Watch active trainee sessions in real time. See gauge states, control positions, and safety events as they happen. Monitor multiple sessions simultaneously. Intervene, annotate, or terminate a session remotely at any time.
Role-Based Access
Department Admin, Instructor, and Trainee roles with scoped permissions. Each person sees only what they need. Instructors manage their own crews and scenarios. Admins see the whole department. Nothing leaks across role boundaries.
Multi-Station Support
Group personnel by station. Track training completion and certification status across your entire department from one dashboard. Assign scenarios to specific stations, shifts, or individual trainees with due dates.
Nothing to Install
Cloud-hosted on hardened AWS infrastructure. Works in any modern web browser on any device — laptop, tablet, or station computer. No software to install, no servers to maintain, no updates to push. Just log in and train.
